Ode to the Mangums

Ken & Natalie Mangum have been not only good friends of ours since we moved to Wayne, but also incredible examples to us of hard work, determination, optimism, testimony, & love. They have a fantastic family filled with five beautiful children. They are always so positive & upbeat. Ken recently finished his MBA at UofM & Natalie cheered him on the whole way during the last 3 1/2 years he has been studying & working full-time for Ford. Their family is now headed westward to live in Colorado. We are happy that they will be closer to their family & friends in Utah, but so sad to see them go! They have been wonderful friends. We can't say how much we admire them & how they might never know how they have changed our lives.

At our Memorial Day party with the Mangums, Zoe figured out how to use a straw for the very first time. She sucked, & sucked, & sucked until she was ready to puke root beer! It was hilarious!

ENJOY THE JOURNEY
Every night when Wesley gets home from work, he & Zoe go for a night time stroll down the block. Zoe LOVES walking up & down the sidewalk with her dadda. She giggles when he says, "Are you ready to go for our walk?" Of course, Tyke is never far behind! Seeing them walk hand in hand is priceless. She is growing up so fast. She'll be walking on her own in no time! I wish I could freeze time & hold on to these magical moments forever.

In the blink of an eye.......

....It's completely amazing to me that a whole year has passed us by since our little Zbug entered the world. Wow. It seems like a crazy dream. She has brought us so much joy & laughter. We have learned so much from her incredible spirit. She is really an awesome person. We are so lucky to have her in our lives. Happy Birthday, Zoe Marie. We can't imagine a life without you!

Happy 1st BDAY little bug!

On Zoe's first birthday, Wesley had work & school. He decided to cut class short, leaving after he finished a quiz, and hurried home to see his baby girl. On the way home, he stopped & bought her a huge cake. So at about 10PM we were chowing down on cake & having a webcam party with Grandma Diane. Wes is the best dad on Earth. We love him so much.

Last Thursday, Wesley's youngest brother Austin came to live with us. We are super stoked to have him around. He is a lot of fun & Zoe LOVES him!!! They are quickly becoming best friends.

Of all the flowers growing in my little patch of Earth, there is one that is extra beautiful & unique. As you can see, this little daisy has one purple petal. Nature is amazing. Wes says this flower has my flare.....I must agree. I have always liked to do things a little differently.

More of it ended up in her hair & on her face than in her belly!

She loves to give herself all natural facials & hair treatments during mealtime.
